Shut your mouth!! Announcing your Goals makes you less motivated to achieve them

Do you think If announce goals, your value will be increased in society?
Do you think your friends will help you in achieving it?
Is it good to let others know about your upcoming projects?
Do you think Law of attraction means you should say your goals and attract them?

Some surveys have been done since 1930 to find that people who announce their intentions are less likely to make them happen.

Announcing your plans to others satisfies your self-identity
just enough to reveal that you’re less motivated to do the hard work needed.

Different tests of people found that those who kept their plans secretly were more likely to accomplish them than those who made them public and were acknowledged by others.

If you tell people of your plans and intentions, it gives you a “premature feeling of completeness.”

Every human has “identity symbols” their brain that make self-image. As both actions and talk create symbols in your brain, announcing satisfies the brain just enough to neglect the pursuit of further symbols.

Result of a recent test published in the internet found that success on one sub-goal (eating healthy meals) reduced efforts on other important sub-goals (going to the gym) for the same reason. It may seem unnatural to keep your intentions and plans private, but try it.

If you do tell a friend, make sure not to say it as a satisfaction (“I’ve joined a gym and bought running shoes. I’m going to do it!”), but as dissatisfaction (“I want to lose 20 pounds, so kick me if I don’t, OK?”)

Shut your mouth!! Announcing your Goals makes you less motivated to achieve them.
